How much does it cost to become a member and how do I Join?
1.  Call (888) 273-3553 for the Membership Packet 
2.  Complete the Statistical Information Sheet & include the
     one-time membership fee
    $35.00 - Single Membership
    $50.00 - Couple Membership
    Payable to Cremation Society of Mid-Michigan
      This fee is for record set-up and is non-refundable and does not
       apply toward final service costs
3.  Mail to our office 700 N. Monroe Street, Bay City, MI  48708
4.  Receive Cremation Society of Mid-Michigan Registration
     Certificate & Wallet Card
5.  Your Membership Registration is complete!

At time of death:
1.  Immediately notify Cremation Society of
     Mid-Michigan at (888) 273-3553
2.  Arrangements for transporting the deceased to our
     holding facility are coordinated
4.  We obtain the cremation permit
5.  The deceased is taken to the crematory & cremated
6.  The cremated remains are returned in a standard container to the
    survivors or handled according to specific written instructions.


Is it necessary to pre-plan?
No, though many find it helps survivors make decisions that are in accordance with your wishes.
 
Is it necessary to pre-pay the total amount?
No, though it does guarantee against higher prices due to inflation, and non-member prices are high than for members.
 
Can the cremation cost be pre-paid?
Yes, and with it a lifetime guarantee that it will not increase.
 
Is my money safe?
Yes, the State of MI requires all funds be placed in a funeral trust account to accrue interest and they are 90% refundable.
 
What service is provided?
At the the time of death we transport the deceased to our holding facility until legal and necessary documents are signed and the cremation permit is obtained.
 
What happens during the cremation process?
The body is placed in a container, then into the cremation chamber, and subjected to intense heat, reducing it to is original elements.
 
What happens to the cremated remains?
Remains are returned to survivors or handeled according to specific written instructions.  An urn may be purchased if necessary.
 
What happens if I die out of state?
A Travel Protection Plan is available which would guarantee arrangements in the contiguous United States, Alaska and Hawaii (a mileage charge may apply).
 
Instructions may be changed by submitting them in writing.
