Obituary of Joni Marie Gates

Joni Marie Gates, age 65, of Kalkaska, Michigan passed away on Thursday March 14, 2024. She was born on March 16, 1958 to the late Shirley Johnson and William Johnson. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, kids, grandkids, siblings, and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, kayaking, camping, fun adventures, and dancing.

She is survived by her husband, Scott Gates; daughter, Season Miley (Steve); son, Christopher Gates (Lisa); grandkids, Brittanie Price and Mitchell Price; step-grandkids, Mercedes Miley, Mallory Miley, and Todd Miley; step- great-grandkids, Paxton Escontrias and Oaklyn Miley; sisters, Bonnie Gordon and Lori Schroeder; brother, William Johnson (Angelica); brother-in-law Jonathan Gates (Elizabeth); sister-in-law, Kathleen Robach (Donald); several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother, Shirley Johnson; father, William Johnson; brother, Robert Johnson; sister, Cherlynn Wysocki; and brother, Larry Johnson.
